Identification of charged particles is one of the main tasks in the event reconstruction chain. Two time-of-flight detectors are used for this purpose in the BM@N experiment. During the current wave (WAVE 2) it is necessary to implement the particle identification method based on the proximity of experimental points to theoretical curves in the beta-momentum space for monte carlo data
Tasks
1. Simulate Monte Carlo data for the BM@N expriment (Argon beam with different targets)
2. Implement C++ class (based on ROOT TTask) performed the simplest approach to particle identification in BmnRoot framework
3. Test implemented method on Monte Carlo data
Preliminary schedule by topics/tasks
The project duration is 6 weeks
Required skills
C++, ROOT/FairRoot, English or Russian for communication
Acquired skills and experience
The student will get acquainted with the mechanism of tasks implementation in BmnRoot framework, will have an opportunity to work with simulated data for the BM@N experiment.
