Behavioral & histological parts of radiobiological research and some approaches for quantification biological data for future proper automatization

The analysis of a large number of videos&images obtained as a result of biomedical research is an essential task, primarily associated with computer diagnostics. The procedure for automatic counting of behavioral patterns and brain cells is a key step in the systems of behavioral analysis of videos and microscopic analysis of histological images of nerve tissue. In this regard, the main goal of the work is to develop effective methods for the automatic determination and quantification of behavioral patterns as well as brain cells based on different methods of video/ image pre-processing, processing, computer view and etc.

Tasks

Qualitive and quantitive analysis of biological data, Statistical analysis, Programming, ROC curve, Complexity and SVD, Mark-up histological images

Preliminary schedule by topics/tasks

Theoretical part (literature), work with histological images of nerve tissue using ImageJ/ICY, learning how to identify and measure biological objects on the pics, finding some criterias for better recognition, calculations, normal distribution, statistic

Required skills

Knowledge at biology, neurobiology, cytology, histology, programming (MAtlab, Python), linear algebra, statistical methods, normal distributions

Acquired skills and experience

Processing biomedical data, the use different methods to analyze biological data, working with special software (ICY, ImageJ, etc).
