Tuning of the vertex finder algorithm for different event types of the BM@N experiment

The existing algorithm of the primary vertex reconstruction for the BM@N experiment gives good results, but requires additional tuning. As for different trigger-target pairs the algorithm parameters must be re-selected.

Tasks

1. Write ROOT-macro to scan over input parameters of the algorithm in a wide range and build the distribution of control parameters (the width of the primary vertex, integral and execution time).
2. In the area of extrema for control parameters perform a smaller step scan.
3. Select the optimal input parameters that will maximize the values of control parameters.

Preliminary schedule by topics/tasks

The project duration is 4 - 6 weeks

Required skills

C++, ROOT framework, histogram fitting and fit parameters extraction, english or russian language for communication

Acquired skills and experience

Ability to work in the BmnRoot framework, experience in experimental data analysis

Recommended literature

ROOT online manual (https://root.cern)
