During this practice, students will learn what Equipment Database is and how it works, as well as about its role in the NICA project. It will be a hands-on experience and a chance to improve the existing database structure. The result of this practice will be a manual for new users on how to work with the database and where to find particular data. The manual will be written in LaTeX, therefore, basic knowledge will be useful but not crucial.
Tasks
- study the structure of the EqDb
- test the database as an outside user
- create a manual for the major parts
- create a description of additional parts that should be implemented
Preliminary schedule by topics/tasks
The duration of the project is 4-6 weeks.
The first two parts of the project should take no longer than a week. The major part (writing the manual) will take up to a month depending on the student's progress in LaTeX and the level of thoroughness of the manual. The last part is hard to predict; however, it is not obligatory if there is not enough time.
Required skills
- English at least at B2 level
- basic knowledge of LaTeX
Acquired skills and experience
