MPD-ITS is one of the subdetectors of MPD. It is based on silicon detectors and produces a huge amount of heat. Moreover, it is located very close to MPD-TPC which is very sensitive to the temperature gradient. Due to this fact, the gradient of the temperature at MPD-ITS has to be minimized. To do that, there must be cooling plants and cooling RACKs located somewhere in the MPD area. The task is to propose cable and pipe routes and find the solution for integrating the cooling plants. The work on the cooling plants can be further developed.
Tasks
Students will work with the MPD/ITS group.
The main tasks are:
- reading the documentation
- designing the cooling system and pipe connectors
- writing the documentation.

The duration of the project is 4 weeks. The work schedule is to be determined.
